The Couleurs des Suds exhibition can be visited in Marseille at the Regards de Provence Museum
Antoine and Jos Henri Ponchin, Provençal painters from father to son.
The Regards de Provence Museum presents the work of the Ponchin family, father and son. From May 25 to October 30, 2022, the Marseille museum invites us to discover these two painters who sublimated the South both by the light they introduced there and by the style, patterns and shapes they experienced over the years. of their travels and placed on the canvas. The meeting with Antoine and Jos Henri Ponchin is also a meeting with the distance; both left Provence to discover sometimes Italy with a Venetian excursion, sometimes Indochina with its temples and its populations. The Indochinese stay gives rise to numerous representations of temples in the jungle, precise landscape studies but also advertising posters. Although they have different histories, they brought to their southern painting an extra soul that was nourished by their encounter with Italy, Asia and North Africa. Until the end of October you can come and admire at the Regards de Provence Museum the work of two sons of Provence, having left it to better find it and better sublimate it.

Galerie Pentcheff regularly exhibits works by Provençal painters, including Antoine and Jos-Henri Ponchin.
The Alexis Pentcheff gallery has already hosted works by these two artists, in particular works by Jos Henri Ponchin, the son of Antoine Ponchin. These works focused on the theme of Asia with many representations of the Angkor region and its temples but also of Hanoi, the point of departure for their travels in 1922. Antoine and Jos Henri Ponchin will always find a place of choice on our walls. As such, very soon an exhibition dedicated to Provençal painting will be held at the Galerie Pentcheff with all the big names associated with it such as Loubon, Ziem, Casile, Ponchin, Ponson and many others.
